FAQ

What type of KYC automation does KYC SiteScan perform?

Our products were created for the payment industry's Know Your Customer underwriting and risk management requirements. KYC SiteScan adheres closely to the Electronic Transaction Association (ETA) merchant underwriting guidelines.  This style of KYC often overlaps well with the KYC criteria for other industries and use cases.  Contact us to learn specific KYC data sources, features, or to schedule a demo.

Does KYC SiteScan have international capabilities?

Yes.  Our reports contain data sources and information gathering methods that are global in scope.

Can I integrate KYC SiteScan into my Underwriting or Compliance Management System?

Yes!  The KYC API enables clients to call KYC reports on demand.  In a few seconds most of our data is available through the API.  In a few minutes our human-readable PDF reports are available.  Some of the world's largest merchant processors and banks use KYC SiteScan as a critical component of their underwriting or compliance automation workflows.

How long does it take to create a KYC report?

Our real-time API provides data as fast as we aggregate it from the sources and methods we investigate or query.  Over 80% of the total data we provide is available in under 20 seconds.  Fully completed data reports and PDFs are available, on average, 2-3 minutes for a KYC MerchantScan report and 5-6 minutes for a KYC SiteScan report (which crawls a business website).

Is KYC SiteScan fully automated?

Yes.  KYC SiteScan is an information collection, analysis, and reporting machine available 24/7/365.

How long has the product been in existence?

Development on KYC SiteScan began in early 2011 with a working beta available to clients starting in early 2014. Since then some of the largest companies in the world use KYC SiteScan to automate their underwriting and compliance workflows.

Are configuration options available to tailor the KYC reports and data to my needs?

Yes.  There are many configuration options including choice of data sources, the order information is presented, criteria for high risk content alerts, length of data and reports, Web and news search strings, and many other options.  The new client setup process contains a half hour discussion to capture configuration decisions.

Is this a persistent Website or news monitoring service?

KYC SiteScan does not persistently monitor websites or news sources on a daily basis.   KYC SiteScan is a "snapshot" of a business at a particular point in time when the report is requested, which includes website crawling, analysis and Web/news searches.

However, we are partnered with the leading Persistent Merchant Monitoring company in the payments industry.  Contact us for more information.

Does KYC perform Sanctions List and Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) screening?

Yes, we provide access to over 1,000 global sanctions lists, watch lists and PEP lists.

Our screening its not just fuzzy searching, but a Pass, Verify or Fail decision and a proof of decision audit trail document.

Machine learning screens up to 80% of fuzzy search false positives, saving significant time and labor.

Does KYC perform due diligence on individuals or businesses?

Almost exclusively on business entities.  Some information is provided on individuals, but primarily to associate individuals with specific business entities. KYC SiteScan is primarily a Know Your Business (KYB) automation solution.

What is the pricing model?

Per report transaction pricing.  Contact us to learn more about discounted tiers for higher report volume.

Can I view the API documentation and is there a sandbox environment?

Yes. Contact us to discuss your needs, and if appropriate we will provide credentials to view the online KYC API documentation and a sandbox environment for API testing.

How long does initial setup take?

As fast as one business day for clients who use the Web Terminal for data entry or batch upload.  For clients connecting through API, most client development teams integrate, test and are in production within 2-3 business days.  In addition to API documentation, each API client is assigned a dedicated technical resource for questions and support during the integration process.
